LNESC Corpus Christi

LNESC Corpus Christi has served Corpus Christi, Texas, and the surrounding area since 1973, dedicating itself to increasing educational opportunities for minority and low-income students by developing and implementing comprehensive programs within the community. In its 48-year history, LNESC Corpus Christi has assisted over 55,000 Coastal Bend area students in the journey toward enrolling in an appropriate postsecondary educational program and has helped them in receiving approximately $85,000,000 in Financial Aid and Scholarships.

Developing Lifelong Learners

LNESC Corpus Christi provides participants educational services in their preparation for college entrance. Currently the Upward Bound program is providing 65 participants attending Moody High School, Miller High School and Cesar Chaves Charter High School fundamental support in their preparation for college entrance.

Upward Bound

A FREE, federally funded TRiO program designed to provide opportunities for eligible high schools students to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Offered at Miller HS and Moody HS.

Provides academic counseling, college/university mentorship through one-on-one advising and workshops, and career advising for students eligible and enrolled in the program. Offered at 8 high schools in Corpus Christi.

This program is a highly interactive and family-oriented academic year-long course designed to instill a love of reading at an early age, and improve reading skills among K-2 students.
